Panchakarma Ayurvedic treatment

Panchakarma treatment is a process for the body to get cleansed inside out. This method helps to Detoxify and rejuvenate the body, improve the metabolism, enhance strength and reduce weight, reduce stress and relax the mind. 

There are five procedures, 

Vamana, Virechana, Nasya, SnehaVasthi and KashayaVathi. 

5 Panchakarma procedures

This is a multi day procedure to eliminate the Kapha or excess mucus. As a preparation procedure, patient is given internal medicines to melt and accumulate the toxins in upper cavity. Then the patient is given emetic medicines and decoction which enables vomiting and helps in disposing of the toxins from the body.

In this procedure the disposal of toxins happens through the bowels. During this procedure, the patient is given Ayurvedic medicines to go for a natural purgative method to clear the guts that aides in purifying the body or toxins

    A Kizhi is densely packed with herbal medicines mix (as per doctor prescription) and heated in warm herbal oil throughout the treatment. The Kizhi is massaged over the affected area or the whole body as prescribed by doctor. In Sanskrit, it is known as Pinda Sweda.

There are different types of Dharas, each of which cures a different health issue. The method of treatment, no of days, duration and oil is chosen based on the nature of the illness.
